Quiz - - - Guess The Televised Series

I thought that I would take a different approach to a discussion about a highly recommended TV series that my whole family enjoys. I will simply post some information about the series and ask if anyone knows the series. This series centers around the turn of the century into the 1900’s. It is based on an author’s collection of novels. Historically at times this series features pseudo-steampunk themes as well as guest star appearances of real life people of importance. A hint of such stars would be Henry Ford, Alexander Graham Bell, Arthur Conan Doyle. Any guesses???

Dr Who?

^^^

Good guess but unfortunately not the series. Here is additional information...

The series is a crime procedural drama in which the main character is a male detective. Not only is the series centered around the turn of the century into the early 1900’s, but also is located in Toronto Canada. :scratch2: :scratch2: :scratch2:

Correct!!! Murdoch Mysteries (AKA - The Artful Detective). Detective Murdoch queries, “Crabtree have you checked for finger marks?” Constable Crabtree replies, “Yes sir, but none were to be found.”

This series is wonderfully written and presented by the actors and actresses in each episode. The elements of culture, science, medicine, religion, politics, and especially morality are touched upon without being shoved in your face like other more “politically correct” series of late. Speaking of of morality, I sincerely enjoy the struggles that Detective Murdoch faces in each episode that challenges his own moral compass. Furthermore, at the end of each episode there is always some kernel of information that brings some deep thought into my thoughts and times of self reflection. Anyway, I highly recommend this series for anyone who enjoys crime dramas and an interesting twist on historical culture.

Regards

My daughter knew the answer from your clues. She hasn't seen the Series on TV but read the books.

Excellent. I can’t get my teenage son to read anything except for the basic attempt at his schoolwork. Anyway enjoy!!!

Ha! I still don’t read that much and I turned out okay - I think?

My daughter is 30 and has read since was 5 or 6. Just something she has always done. All my wife and I ever did was get her started and supply the books!
