Tidal CD vs MQA sound quality?
I found that I have become a Tidal MQA addict for streamed music. For me, when I am listening to Tidal, I find that I have preferred the MQA version over the CD version of any song that I have listened to. Can anyone recommend any songs that sound better or the same from Tidal in CD quality over MQA quality and I will check it out. I am not trying to compare HiRes, CD's or SACD's to Tidal, just Tidal CD and MQA quality. I do have a MQA DAC so I get the final unfold.

I also prefer the MQA versions on Tidal\

Do special MQA versions exist there?
Or do you mean that you have not activated the "Passtrough MQA" in the Tidal client? (Which would deactivate the software decoding of MQA.) I have only activated the exclusive mode, master quality and use only the music with an M if possible. |
GBP , you talk about Master quality on Tidal ? I have never seen that.
I have Tidal HiFi , and there are albums that are MQA , which means that you will need a D/A Converter , that are MQA certified to decode the MQA files , if you don't have have that they will not be in MQA quality which are in higher resolution. |
If you don't subscribe to Master Quality, you probably won't even see it.
These M-Titles are not in 44.1khz, but 88.1, 96 or even 192. Of course I prefer them. For me it looks as if MQA is switched on by default anyway. But that there are special MQA albums is new to me. Do you have a link to one of the MQA titles, please? |
Are you sure you talk about Tidal ? and not Qobuz ? or has there been added extra subscription plans to Tidal that i am not aware of ? Maybe they are not available here in Denmark !
I think if i remember correctly that Qobuz has some subscriptions called Master... But i will try check up on Tidal. |
I'm already talking specifically about Tidal.
For Master quality I pay 19,99 Euro per month. Do you have a link to one of the MQA titles, please? |
Now i just checked on the issue , and its because you are using a desktop where i can see the Master quality :) on my Lumin T1 streamer there is not such an option as it will decode MQA titles , so thats why i did never see the Master quality .
