Anyone here have experience with the Firstwatt SIT-3?

No, but the some of the finest sounding solid-state gear were the Sony and Yamaha VFET (as is the SIT-3) amps & integrated amps (Sony) of the '70s & '80s.

I have a Sit-3 and it is a VERY fine amp. The only solid state amp I can absolutely say is a keeper. I have had several Pass amps, and First Watt including the Sit-2, and this one is the best I have heard. The tonality is fully developed, and inner detail is superb. Power is very adequate for my Devore Nines, which normally have either a Ref75se or ANK monoblocks.

The First Watt amps are great...

Just be sure the amp plays nice with your speakers and upstream equipment.

I have an SIT-3 driven with an PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium Preamp and PSAudio DirectStream DAC and Cornwall III, phenomenal sound! If you are looking for a Solid State Amp that sound like a Triode this is it!

If you read the current Stereophile they do a review on the ELEKIT TU-8600R which is a 300B Tube Amp Kit you put together yourself for under 2K...and in the review they compare it to the SIT-3...and beats it handily in Herb Reicherts opinion (And several others selling for much more dough)!!

I recently got a SIT-3 that I am using with PureAudioProject Quintet Heil AMT speakers. This amp is sensational. I was tri-amping the Quintets with a McIntosh MC206 and the single 18 watt SIT-3 is in an utterly different league. More than enough power to crank the speakers up plenty loud. A beautiful sounding amplifier.
