HTM1 D3 w/800 D3
 

Has anyone used this together? How does it sound? Seemless?

I currently have 802n and HTM1n and they are a great match. Looking at possible upgrade.

I have been happy with the 800D3 and HTM1D3 for the last few years. The HTM1D3 has the same drivers as the 802D3 and is a good match.

IMO if you want the 800s I don’t feel you should compromise to 802s to match the HTM1D3.

I do wish there was a 200+ pound center offered like the original HTM1D.

What does that "N" designate?
 

As I haven't been able to keep up with all of the B&W Nautilus developments -- as the thread I posted earlier today will attest to -- would you please explain what you mean by the "N" suffix? Specifically, your original post states 802N and HTM1N. Does the "N" designate "Nautilus"? If so, my signature has been off for quite some time. :scratch2:

ADDENDUM: If the "N" does stand for Nautilus, would you mind sharing how old your speakers are?

I'm not sure how old they are. They came out before the 800D series. Guessing 15-16yrs old.

800N series (with alu tweeters) was manufactured 1998 - 2004.

Martin..... We purchased our B&W 802s from their first owner in 2004. Although a private inspection determined that they were in absolutely pristine condition, I don't recall when they were first purchased. Is there a way to determine whether or not we have the type of tweeters you're referring to herein?

Just include a photo of the speakers and the badge at the end (you can try blanking out the serial number). That might make it easier to determine.

The tweeters of the Nautilus 800 series (800N) were alu.

B&W introduced the first Diamond tweeters with the 800 D series (800 D1) in 2005.

Doggie Howser..... I understand that you're suggesting that we post a photo of one of our 802s and one of our 805s, but what is the "badge" of which you speak?

By the way, do I have to be a paid subscriber to post a photo?
