I wore the first Rolex Explorer watch today.

It has a honey cone Dial, odd shaped hands, and I believe its a circa 1953.
Rolex sent it up a climb of Mount Everest. Depending what you read.

Looks like, a 90 year old mans watch, but has been preserved perfect over the years.
Bought new by another family member. Now I take care of it for the next guy!

It sounds like a really nice item to have. Any chance you could post a picture?

I have 3 Rolex`s. All 3 were given to me by family members. My father gave me his all gold President for my 40th b day and my cousin gave me his stainless/gold Submariner. Last but not least my ex wife gave me the all stainless Submariner which I almost daily.

Kind of sounds like the Patek adds. Good for you. Take care of it.

Sorry, I do not know how to post pics, in threads.
I believe, that the watch was sold separate without a band, brand new.
Can, I copy and paste pics?
It looks just like a 90 year old mans Timex watch.

On a side note:
I have Rolex's watches that were never serviced that have held up forever, until current.
Not sure I buy into the whole service the watch every few years deal. My serviced watches always, have problems, once the seals are broken, over the long years.
Different service companies have been used.
Official Rolex was the worst, in Switzerland.
5 Months there, and it came back, not right, so I just sent it out locally.

I love Rolex's... most all of them...

Just never had one that would keep time.

Seems like a watch should keep time...

I would love to find a SS Sub that kept PERFECT time.
