NEW! Cary Headphone amps?
Anyone here has more info on these babies?

I listen primarly to headphones and I'm a big fan of Cary audio because of the sublime Cary 306 SACD that I owned for many years. It's very interesting to read opinions about their headphone amp. :)

SLP-05 headphone driver & HiFiMAN
Does anyone have any experience with the SLP-05 driving the HiFiMAN headphones? I'm interested in these but understand that they're challenging (inefficient). When treading reviews on them they're often paired with HiFiMAN's amp, which specs its output as 15 volts instead of watts.

Thanks all. I'm still breaking in my SLP-05; at 22 hours so far. I've been using a Krell HTS-7.1 for multi-channel and stereo for many years but wanted more! So even right out of the box this SLP-05 sounds especially great in resolving detail (e.g., ambience cues, new info) plus the transients are striking (e.g., the leading edge of plucked strings, percussion, etc.). It's fun hearing more realistic sounding music. I'll keep 'em burning thru the day and nite for the next few days breaking in the tubes and 2 new balanced interconnects.

Jam, the designer of those two headphone amps is damn talented.....
