Nothing too exotic here for me, just Canadian Mapleleafs, US Gold Eagles, Gold China Pandas, and African Krugerrands.

Chinese Panda coins have been some of the most popular coins on the market ever since they were introduced to the world in 1982. And for good reason: if you had bought a Chinese gold Panda, a Canadian gold Maple Leaf, and a South African gold Krugerrand back in 1982, you could sell your Maple Leaf and Krugerrand today for only the gold price, while your gold Panda could be sold today for over $2,500! As one of the best performing coins on the market, the Panda coin series has many other years that are worth more than their bullion price, and this has added to their popularity. With mintage figures a fraction of what other bullion coins are and extremely high quality coins coming directly from the mint, many people have fallen in love with collecting Panda coins of all sizes. Next time you want to buy gold, buy better than bullion - buy Chinese Pandas from Panda America. http://www.beijing2008coins.com/emai...ail_header.jpg |
Have been interested in buying a gold coin for years. Is there a good site to visit to do some research? Also, where do you buy your gold coins from?

OH Yeah, Morgans, Peace, American Eagles, most all proof sets, anything silver Franklin's quarters all types, most all are certified stuff. Also buy bulk silver from time to time as well. And do have some paper money etc 1/2 dines, early 1800 stuff.
I guess a decent list of stuff :) |

Pretty cool.
This 2016 Proof recalls the 1848-1855 California gold rush and contains 1 oz. of 99.9% pure silver and features a genuine 24K gold leaf encased in a transparent capsule! The gold leaf appears to be in the gold mining pan of the California prospector depicted on the obverse. With legal tender value of 5 New Zealand dollars, the 2016 coin from the Pacific islands of Niue bears an image of Queen Elizabeth II, a statement of weight and purity, and the denomination on the reverse. The 1 oz. silver Proof comes in a handsome presentation case http://www.littletoncoin.com/wcsstor.../st5171-wc.jpg |
I like anything early 1800's and before. Also not a huge fan of slabbed coins, except in certain circumstances.

Have also purchased from Littleton's. |
I inherited several hundred coins mostly Silver Dollars but some gold 5 & 20 Dollar coins,
I could never get a straight answer as to what they were worth so they have been sitting in a safety deposit box for 20 years. |
most $20 gold coins are in the $1500 to $2000 range each, depends on condition, year, rarity etc. The certified ones are really work a lot!
|
Can you say how what general years the coins are? All raw or any slabbed already?

Can you tell us the general year range of these coins? All raw or any slabbed? |
I've been collecting gold coins for 30 years. Been buying on the dips. In the late 90s it was a buying binge with gold coming in at 350 ounce.

Looking for some help. I really like the look of the American Buffalo one ounce Gold Proof coin the US Mint is selling. Currently the price for a 2017-W 1oz Gold Proof Buffalo coin is $1,590 which I think means I'm paying a rather large spread vs. current cost of 1oz of gold. Here is where I get confused and want to learn:
Ampex has the following prices right now: 1. 2017 Gold Buffalo BU $1,324 2. 2017-W 1oz proof Gold Buffalo PR-70 PCGS Black Diamond $1,808 3. 2017 1oz Gold Buffalo MS-70 PCGS Black Diamond $1,438 Can someone please explain to me the difference between these 4 options. The price gaps seem huge as they all contain the same 1oz of .9999 Fine Gold? Appreciate any help or even a good website to read. Everything I read on the web seems to be a sales pitch... |
I collect all US coins from 1900 to current. I actually have been trying to get 2 full sets. This way I can pass a set on to each of my kids. I try to get only BU for the general coins and then the mints sets (both silver and clad). They are stored in Dansco albums.

Just bought another 20 uncirculated Walking Libertys (think I'm up to 400). Doing my best to corner the market.
Got all excited and added a couple of Maple Leafs. Can barely lift our safe deposit box, so that will likely curtail future purchases of silver. |
