SoundStageDirect: Going out of business or maybe in transition?

Has anyone done business with SoundStageDirect recently? I usually buy a little music from them as they did a great job packaging records.

They have always been a little slow with shipping but this year they seemed to get even slower. The last few months they have been impossible to reach and products don't seem to be shipping out. Looks like there are a few similar reports out on the web.

This was previously discussed here; they did go out of business.

Strangely the website is still operational and the shopping cart still works... :scratch2:

Guess that explains why my records didn't ship!

As posted in the VPI forum, I emailed them to cancel an order that hadn't shipped after a month. They said OK, we're sending the refund. Never happened, filed a PP claim and got my money back. RIP SSD, they were great to do business with.

Seth had a good thing going on with the Vinyl business and a great CS team lead by Anna but he should have stayed out of the equipment business. Gear was not what his loyal customers came to him for.

Yep. SSD is done. Ripped off a lot of people. I was sooo close to trading in my Rega RP10/ Apheta 2 this past spring towards a high end Clearaudio cart. Dodged a bullet there.

That's too bad. I got a great deal on my VPI Prime Signature from them. I originally ordered a "B stock," but it was sold out, so they sold me a brand new one for the same price ($4499) and gave me $1500 for my VPI Scout 1.1 in trade toward my Ortofon cartridge!

If one goes to their website as of this morning, one gets redirected to "Reverb LP."
