AVID Acutus SP Reference

Hi guys,

Looks like I'm on a vinyl binge at the moment. I am now looking at the AVID Acutus SP Reference. Any owners care to comment ? Good or bad or ?

I am considering a SME V or a SEM V12. Any opinion ?

Cartridge likely to be a Koetsu Azule stone body or maybe a Lyra Atlas.

Looking for :

1) Sweet Vocals
2) Good soundstage
3) bass

in order of descending importance.

Regards,
Joe Ling

As I'm an AVID Acutus SP REF owner, I'm biased. But I'm sure you'll find all that your looking for and more from the Acutus. It's a rock solid deck and I don't think you can go wrong with your decision. I went with the SME V and Dynavector XV-1s. Runs through ARC ref2se. Enjoy the journey!

+1

I have the Acutus SP as I was a little stretched to afford the Reference, thinking I would upgrade in the future. Even this Acutus is the best turntable I have ever used, heard, whatever. I have SME V with Benz Micro LP-S through a Whest PS.30 RDT SE.

I went to the Singapore dealer on my way to Australia & did a brief audition on his Acutus SP. I like what I heard.

I will pass by again soon. Let's see how.
