Pass Labs XP-12 or XP-20
I am currently contemplating the rebuild of one of my systems. This is going to be a scaled down version of my family room system.
In terms of a preamp, am I better off going with an XP-12 or an older XP-20? I imagine the 2 chassis unit would still come out on top, but how close is it? At this point, I am leaning towards an X150.8 amplifier. While a second XP-22 would be nice, I’m trying to limit the overall expenditure for this system. |
Why not get an Int-250 or maybe even an Int-60?

I have been told by Mark that the separates will outperform the integrateds.

They should if the differences are apparent in your system, but you said 'scaled down.' Just a suggestion. These are two pretty darned good integrateds.

I will check them out. Thanks

IMO between the two XP-20 would be the way I'd go. I love the XP-22 - a definite step up from the XP-12. |

I wonder if the INT-60 could properly drive Dynaudio bookshelf speakers with an 86dB sensitivity. |

Yes I do I've owned one it's a beast and the best bang for the buck in the Integrated market!

Thank you for the advice. I found an 18 month old INT-60. You guys just saved me a whole bunch of scratch. THANK YOU!
