The Thorens TD125MkII gets a new arm

I have been running a Magnapan Unitrack 1 arm on the TD125MKII with solid results, but since changing out the arm on the main table I thought I might as well mount the ClearAudio Verify CF arm / Shelter 501 II LOMC cartridge combo on theTD125 MkII.

The Verify CF is a magnetically suspended arm on a string and the combo was very good on the ClearAudio Solution table. I will say this arm and cartridge sound very good on the Thorens, but it is a very touchy pairing due to the Thorens being a suspended table and the design of the tonearm.

The other issue to deal with is the cable is direct and comes out of the body of the arm above the armboard, so I will either need to cut a slot in the armboard and feed it through the plinth and out the bottom or cut the dustcover to accommodate it's exit above the Arm Board. The other issue is the Anti-Skate control is on the bottom of the mounting post so I will have to cut a Sizable Hole in the Baseboard to allow adjustment.
Oh well think I will listen for a while and figure the rest out later!

Regards,
Jim

Jim - perhaps you could use the VPI junction box as they use a similar wiring arrangement for their arms.

Thanks. I will take a look but I will still need to get the cable to it and I do like the idea of direct continuous wire from cartridge lead to preamp. :scratch2:
