What is your next New Toy ?

The educational discount on the new Macbook Pro is hard to turn down. My laptop is nearly 4 years old, it is time. I am looking at the 15 inch 2.8 ghz, 4 gb ram, 500 gig hard drive, 7 hour battery, Nvidia Geforce 9400M+9600 GT 512mb. I should be able to put all my music as well as most of my favorite digital pictures on the new macbook pro , when I use the computer to control my sonos, the library will be accessed off the computer.

It also comes with a 120 gig IPOD classic for $20 after rebate. You can never have too many ipods; I keep one in my car, another in my office waiting room system, one for the operating room and this new one will be for my exercise room.

David.......Why the 15", and not the 17" screen? The new Macbook Pro is nice, and loaded to the gills. Where is the deal being adbertised?

Look here: Student Discount - Apple Store (U.S.)

The 17 inch is too big to carry around when I travel, the 15 inch is the perfect size. When I flew to Las Vegas last week, when the person in front of me put the seat back it was hitting my 15 inch on my lap.

I think I am going to start looking for or building a hard disc based system that will play hi-rez recordings.
