I just put a down payment on one of this and just wondering what's your thought on it. SIG716 Patrol

Dang........... if it is so expensive that you have to put a down-payment on it I would look for something else. Lots of quality AR-10s out there. ;)
Seriously, SIG builds a quality product. Am guessing that like most others, they purchase their receivers from LMT or some one of the other 'big guys'. No reason to reinvent the wheel.

Mike.......Congratulations. The Sig Sauer 716 Patrol is a serious semi-auto rifle. The 7.62 x 51mm chambering makes it a potent weapon. I will be watching for your comments once you've had some range time with it, get it zeroed and maybe add an EOTech holographic red dot sight or a Trijicon ACOG sight. You made a great choice.

Nice choice! That's a high quality piece and well regarded in the firearms community.

I had to put a "down-payment" on my Wilson Combat AR at the time of order placement even though "build time" was less than a week.

Dan I was watching some YouTube video of the Sig 716 and some these guys setting their target at 500, 700, and even 900 yard and they were able to hit the target with a descent size grouping. Most of Their comment were, the Sig 716 is accurate and reliable. The only complaint they have is that, it's a little bit heavy 9.3 lbs without mag. but that's what makes this 308 cal. stable, the weight absorb some of the recoil. Once I zero in my Sig, I wil post my evaluation here.

Here it is, finally, just waiting for my scope and the green laser dot before I could take it to the range for the first time.

Mike.......Looks excellent and outfitted with some nice options. It will be lots of fun at the range. That is a fine personal defense and home protection weapon. Stockpile all the ammo and magazines you can afford.

Will do Dan and thanks! The only thing about this gun is, it's heavy about 9.7lbs w/out the magazine but that's ok because the weight will absorb some of the recoil since it's a 308 cal.

Mike.......Maybe a nice tactical sling. It helps with the weight when you have to carry it and can provide support when firing.

Here's a few photos of my Smith & Wesson M&P-15 fully accesorized.
