PS audio / shunyata power cords

So I am looking for a power cord for my amp and was wondering on opinions on the ps audio AC-5 / 10 or the shunyata venom HC.

I see some decent deals on the HC out there.

Thanks in advance. Tim

I would pass on the PS Audio cables; there is a huge Special going on right now in our Marketplace on Venom HC Power Cords.

@timm,

I’ve owned AC-12s and agree with Masterlu and would pass on the PS Audio power cords.

I used to be a big fan of the PS Audio power cables. It seems like they're a little more focused on gear rather than their cable line nowdays. IMO there are some better choices for similar cost i.e. Wireworld, Audioquest and Shunyata on the more expensive end.

Stick with your amp's stock power cord and avoid that bottomless hole.

Listen to the cords you would like to buy in your system, for several days. There is no substitute - too many variables to make a call without an in-home audition.

Here’s my brief experience with PS Audio AC-10 power cords. They exaggerated the bass, and filtered out mids and highs. Disappointing pretty much sums up their performance.

Thanks all.

I went from PS Audio Statement power cords to Shunyata Black Mamba HC on my amp and preamp. I thought it was a major step up. I now use Shunyata Alpha HC in my whole system. But cables like everything else are system dependent.

I would look around and see what people with similar equipment are using. Use that as a starting point. Then see if you can find some to try in your system. Research and listen as much as you can. Then make a long term plan and work toward it.
