If it is a low scoring game, 49ers will prevail. If it becomes a shootout, I don’t see how 49ers would keep up with the Chiefs. Niners should try to be really discipline and run the ball, keep Mahomes off the field. As for KC, big plays early maybe the key. If they got one or two to take the lead early, Niners won’t be able to do what they do best, that is running the ball.

I agree 98% with that assessment, but there was one game during the
season that they had to keep up with the Saints and they prevailed in a
very high scoring game. The issue is that that game was probably an outlier
than the norm.

Now, that game had a couple of key defensive players out, so the 49ers
defense should not be outplayed as much as with with the Saints back
in December, but we'll see.

It is going to be a fascinating game.

Don't recall how much they pay Mahomes, but its not enough.

He did well. Two interceptions not so much.
Garapollo lost the game for SF.

He’s still in 3rd year of his rookie contract. The chatter is he’s getting an extension this offseason that worth 200M.

Mahomes is a great talent, congrats to KC for the Super Bowl win, not to mention I won't have to listen to any Kyle Shanahan interviews about what else he learned from the 28-3 comeback when he was here with the Falcons. :uzi:

That’s way off the charts IMHO. He’s good. Very, very good but not that great.

Is that 40 million a year? I'm not sure if that's way off. Considering he's in
his second year, he could start a Brady-like dynasty for the next ten years.
Any other franchise would love to have that kind of mark-up. The issue will
be once you pay one player that much, the rest of them suffers. That
happened almost immediately with Flacco at Baltimore after they defeated,
errr, the 49ers as well.
