12v trigger
My Pre has a 12v trigger. My mono's each have 1 12V trigger; how do I use a cable to chain the mono's to the pre? :scratch2:
I've seen splitter cables; however they appear to be for headphone use. |

I've seen these and they are promoted as used with headphones and a mic. Will this work in my application.

Thanks. |
Is there no trigger out on the amps?
|
Correct no out, I bought the splitter. Don't know if it works as I don't have the amps yet; mid week around the 30th.

Good luck then.

What is shown is a stereo splitter - right and left signals split to two separate cables. 12V triggers are mono signals, so the 1/8" (3.5 mm) RCA pin has two rings, not three. If the internal contact of the trigger makes contact with both right and left rings it will work, but no guarantee as far as I know. There are mono splitters out there (dual subwoofer applications, etc.). Search for: uxcell 3.5mm 1/8" Mono Male to 3.5mm 2x Female Jack Audio Splitter Adapter Connector |
CL, thanks. I read somewhere that the BelCanto 600m monos can be left on as they only draw 22 watts. In fact someone recommended that they stay on as he felt the sound was better that way. With my set up, if the trigger doesn't work it's no big deal to turn on the amps if their off, as the amps will be very close to the pre/dac. I'll post how this all works out and even more importantly whether this set up is an improvement over what I have now.
