FWIW, I did read that OB's benefit from some room treatment behind and between the speakers.

Still a work in progress. Though I have found some lower registers I am not satisfied. My belief is that it is the application of the driver and not the driver itself. I am amazed at the speed of this 15” driver. It defies logic. I may build a quick mockup of the Decware large baffle for reference. Also a base reflex box like on the Lii website. Again for reference. May end with a folded horn for some punch while avoiding a woofer. Or maybe.... [emoji848]

There is a Lii 15 thread on Audio Circle that may be of helpful. I am not a speaker guru.

Anyone read the review of the Spatial X5 open baffle speaker as written by Don Sachs (noted amp and preamp builder) in the Audio Circle forum?

He raves about them.

$7K/pair, claimed 97db. Class D digital powered subwoofer.

I've never heard a pair. After reading his thoughts, I'd like to.

Latest ‘baffle’:

5” shorter than before, 10” rear protruding baffle.
Anders Osbourne’s “Ash Wednesday Blues” I have never heard played better. Difficult distortion to get right.

My best mockup yet.

If you search Grundig, Saba, Philips, etc. open baffles you will find a lot of info from Europe. They are into open baffles. Try Rondo speaker enclosure too.

I have an Omega Deep Hemp Deuce, a sealed subwoofer with top and bottom firing 8 inch drivers, coming tomorrow. It's designed to match the speed of single driver speakers. It's brand new, the seller ordered it from the Omega custom shop and went another direction before it was delivered. I don't have room for huge baffles or boxes.

FYI, Wild Burro Audio Betsy drivers

These are 8 inch full range drivers for open baffles. There are two versions Ferrite or Alnico magnets and they are made in the USA. I bought the Alnico version, $351 a pair delivered. The Ferrite version is less $$$ but tubes and Alnico are wonderful. Both are well regarded.

@bearcity
Gotta amp design question for ya as it relates to driving speakers with added control (if you know anything). Is the Toy factory now only focused on putting out flea-watt single-ended amps for the foreseeable future?
