Many thanks for the welcome!

I must agree with you; upon my first demo of the 800 Diamond, I was left speechless. Maybe one day.....

Welcome Patrick!

The MC501's are wonderful amps for almost everyone. I'm a power monger, so I chose 1.2KW's lots of them.

It really is not fair to compare a 500 watt amp with a 1200 watt amp.

:wave:Hi Patrick,

I had 501's on my XRT1K's and they are a terrific amp. After a year or so, I purchased the Mc1.2KW's. Power is a beautiful thing.

Hi, all. I'm new here so I just wanted to say "hello."

I'm more or less a lightweight as an audio aficionado. My main (okay, only) system consists of a McIntosh MA7000 (that recently replaced a 6900), Thiel CS2.4 speakers, and run-of-the-mill CD and DVD players. I do have a Nakamichi DR-2 deck that I keep around to remind me of the good old days.

Thanks for all of the great advice. I look forward to becoming more active here as I shake my shyness about not being too well-versed in the lingo of the audio aficionado.
