The L100 Classic will be available in Spring 2018 at an MSRP of $4,000 per pair.

Very cool. I had a pair with the same orange grille back in the mid 70’s. Curious how the new design will compare to what I remember of the original.
|
The JBL L100's I owned back in the 70's only cost me $750.00 a pair.

Gold price circa 1974: < $200
Gold price today: >$1300 |
My brother had a pair with lava orange grills back in the day.

...and then, commemorating JBL’s 70th Anniversary, the release of the 4312SE studio monitor, a next generation version of the 4310 & 4311 monitors (which of course, inspired the L100 home speakers).

Nostalgia is overrated. I sure hope the updated versions have 40+ years of improvements.

I still own a pair of JBL 4312A speakers I purchased new in Miami, Florida in 1989. I drive them with a vintage McIntosh MA230 integrated tube amplifier. The can still rock the house.

Iconic maybe but I think in 2017 I could do without the orange grilles.
