No need for a car radio
According to the entering college class of 2016 there is no need for a radio in cars.
Having been brought up holding a transistor radio to my ear it's hard to swallow that radio is considered obsolete by our youth. I still remember when FM was something few ever listened to and every one had a radio. Is radio dead? |
Radio is dead.
Completely. Dead. Let it go finish burying itself. :) |

They are too busy texting while driving to tune in a station. Radio isn't what it used to be, but I don't think it's dead yet. Remember they said vinyl was dead too. Of course they were write about 8 tracks, so who knows. |
I would think many people still listen to the radio while driving in the car. There are a lot of people who don't care to pay for satellite radio. My wife, son, & daughter all listen to their car radio's. I listen to Sirius.

But really, I still listen to the radio, so until the radio station shuts down... that college class can serve a warning to me and that's that. |
XM and Sirus here and I also have a McIntosh System in the car.

NPR in the car for me.

Internet radio has replaced FM for me at home.
Never much listened to the radio in my car and, although my new one has a hard drive, SDHC and USB, I stopped using them after I experimented to see what I could do. I prefer to drive. |
