For all you Fuji X-owners

You might be interested in this blog entry on moving from the Canon 5D MkIII to the Fuji X-Pro2. Interesting reading and superb photography.

Awesome article. Thanks. Taking the canon stuff to be sold today. New era, as I've been with canon since the 90s.

Wow, high praise!

Stephen, what is the difference with the XT-2?
I looked at the specs and the XT-2 looks more modern (4K movies, more frames per second,...)

Puma Cat 12-08-2016 12:37 PM

Bart,
Specs are improved pretty much across the board: 24 mpixel X-TransIII sensor, more sophisticated AF, faster frame rate, faster EVF frame rate (up to 100 FPS when using battery grip in boost mode), shorter EVF blackout time, dual card slots, AF point joystick, higher ISO performance, etc.

Stephen, you mean the XT-2 is the better choice, right?

Certianly a better choice for sports and photojournalism shooters; I don't know if the choice is that much better for "general photography"; the X-T1 is really an excellent camera. Only the end user can decide that.

It is also really nice to have the Fuji Acros B&W film preset on the X-T2, and more importantly, to be able to view your image in EVF in "Acros B&W" before you take the shot. Also, the EVF is slightly crisper and cleaner, especially when viewing in low light.

Stephen, sorry, I didn't make myself clear.
I meant the XT-2 over the X-Pro 2.
Thank you for all your answers!

Different cameras for different needs. X-Pro2 is really intended for street and reportage using Fuji's new compact f/2 primes, primarily. I rented one for a week and liked it, but had issues with the eye relief on the viewfinder.

The X-T2 is much more oriented around sports, photojournalism, and use with zooms, etc.

Stephen, got it!
And exactly what the guy in the shop told me yesterday. https://audioaficionado.org/images/icons/icon12.gif
Thank you!

I just can't read this thread anymore. I supposedly have the X-T2 on order from a local shop, but they can't tell me when it will be here. I also can't find it (in kit form, which saves several hundred $$) on the web.

Painful.
