Visit to Legend Audio & the Cape

We (Bossgirl and your humble correspondent) finally made it up to the Cape to visit Ivan and Richard last week, and boy, what an experience! Like many AA'ers, I followed Ivan's build-out of his listening rooms after he bought the house on the Cape, as well as what he's done with his other systems there. Those threads, along with the advice of many of you on AA, have resulted in many hours of listening pleasure in our home, using great equipment that has been discussed and reviewed here on AA.

But the pictures, as good as they are, don't do justice to seeing and experiencing it.

From the first system, Ivan's Accuphase/Canton, to the last, his home theater, we were amazed. We would have lingered much longer if time allowed - my wife got so excited sitting in front of the reference Burmester/SF Aida system she started rattling off a lot of songs she wanted to hear, losing track of time (God bless her!). Not only has Ivan assembled multiple systems at the Cape, but each is unique and yet he's able to tie them all together by streaming with the Silenzios.

It was the first time for me to hear a number of brands Ivan has, and we learned a lot about pursuing the best possible sound, and the attention to detail that makes it possible. Look at Ivan's signature on any of hist posts, and each of those Cape systems would be more than welcome in our home.

Ivan's hospitality lived up to its legendary reputation, and we were pleased to also meet Donna and their children, and see Richard's new Lambo. It made for a completely incredible experience, one which my wife is still raving about, and I'm just walking around with a big grin on my face. Ivan and Richard have put together something that is truly amazing; my only regret is not having visited earlier.

Paul… what a great time we had meeting Caroline and you, here in Cape Cod. Thanks so much for the visit, and your kind review of my systems. :o

Always love to read about the visits to Ivan and Donna’s lair - one day the stars will align for me.

Ivan is the perfect host. I was lucky enough to visit him in both of his houses, and the memories remain fresh in my mind.
