Interconnect Recommendations for XP-15 -> XP-30?

Hi All,

Does anyone have a recommendation for a balanced interconnect to run from a Pass XP-15 phono stage to my XP-30 preamp?

The rest of my system is wired with ancient, 1st-gen MIT Shotgun, which will all get replaced eventually, so this new cable will be the first of a new loom.

As an interim solution, I'm using a balanced Burley(?) IC, but it sounds significantly worse that my 30(?) year old MITs.

I've been considering Audience AU 24 SX, Shunyata Alpha NR or Synergistic Research Atmosphere Level 3, but am open to any brand. I was hoping to keep the price at $2K or below, but am obviously stretching that a bit...

Thanks in advance...

Kimber KS1130 & KS1125 is what I went with. Doubt I will ever move anywhere from where i am now, they sound so right.

Thanks! They seem to be replaced by KS1136 & KS1126. I'll check out the 1126 - the 1136 is out of my price range :(

AU 24SX any day. Far superior than the Kimber IMHO

I managed to damage my phono cable cleaning the connectors with what turned out to be spurious Signet RCA cleaning tools, & needed to replace that first. I ended up buying the Audience AU24 SX phono cable, & putting the phono stage to preamp cable on hold.

I must admit, however, that the recent Absolute Sound reviews of the Shunyata Sigma & MasterBuilt Reference cables have piqued my interest!

If you are considering Shunyata Sigma then Audioquest Wild or Wels might be worth listening to along with similarly priced MIT or Transparent cables. In the end system synergy is huge because with my older system the Shunyata Sigma SC sounded amazing but when swapping out components I ended up swapping out cables as well. Always listen in your own system with several choices so you can pick the "best" one for your system and remember as you upgrade or swap out components that best cable may change. Good luck!

Beg and borrow cables from your audio friends or find a dealer willing to let you try at home. Cables are an easy way to spend vast amounts of money just to go in the wrong direction. Synergy with your system as you hear it will be the final say on your cable choice. Trust your ears.
