Will the SP3 be discontinued? If so how soon?

Hi Rex

No - the SP3 stays in the line for those (like myself) that do not require all the features of the SP4

Hi James!

Thanks for the info. I'm not ready to do ATMOS either. Good to know the SP3 will remain.

It seems from the preliminary specs that the SP4 is designed as a movie processor. The SP3 is more focused as processor for both music and movies. The SP4 seems to not have a balanced digital input.

The SP4 is both an Audio and Video processor. It is based on AudioStorm’s I. ISP 3D 16 Elite processor that does have AES digital inputs via optional module. So I would think that the same applies to the SP4.

I think you are correct. It also seems this unit could cost as much as 18 to 20k for this option. I am so glad I am satisfied with the SP3.:D

As I understand it, Bryston is also making this product for JBL Synthesis (SDP-75) who engaged Trinnov at some point too for processing algorithms. (SDP-75)

It is intended for up to 16 discrete channels of surround and includes Atmos processing.

I'm sure James can provide more info.
