They maintain manufacturing facilities in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Arizona and North Carolina. They also cast their ferrous metals in New Hampshire and Arizona.

I added a riser, scope mount, scope and bipod to the AR 10 recently. I just finished up adjusting the scope and it's mount for proper eye relief.

Next stop...the outdoor range! |
Nice set up. Have you had it out yet and how far have you stretched it's legs?

Nice rifle, Michael!
My congratulations. |

How another, another Ruger? Here's my stainless Ruger No.1V in .223R. 24" varmint weight barrel with an 8" twist. Shown with a Leupold 3-9x40mm VX-II scope that I use in our all off-hand 100/150/200 steel target match (steel targets that topple over when hit). Wears a 6.5-20x40 VX-IIIi Leupold when shooting our 200/300/600yd matches.
Also shown is the ammo I load for the rifle. On the left is the Sierra 77gr TMK (tipped Match King), in the middle is the 80gr Hornaday A-Max, which they've stopped making, infortunately, and on the right is a Sierra 80gr SMK (Sierra Match King). Out of the 24" barrel am getting right at 2750fps MV. https://www.audioaficionado.org/atta...1&d=1491686861 https://www.audioaficionado.org/atta...1&d=1491686933 https://www.audioaficionado.org/atta...1&d=1491686933 |

Good point, Glenn. I like the idea of a 20" barrel on this weapon. It does mean a case change but I think I can handle that. :)
I'm not done testing different loads and bullet weights. Right now the best groups I get are with a 168gr hollow point boat tail of the Hornady variety. My next test will be stepping up a bit in weight to 178gr, then maybe a change to 155gr. I'll eventually settle on a load but in the mean time I am enjoying the process. |
Think you are going to 'run out of barrel' with those heavier bullets at longer distances. Just can't get enough MV in 16". Most of us are shooting at least 28" at 600yd and 30" & 32" are becoming more popular all the time. 20" without a flash hider/muzzle break will be as good as it gets for a .308 in Tactical AR. Should be a terrific tack-driver.
