My WW Shopping List

Hi,

I am looking to dive into a selection of WW cables, based on my current rack configuration of:

PS Audio Transport
PS Audio DAC
Mcintosh C220
Mcintosh MC501
Mcintosh MC501
PS Audio P10

http://www.audioaficionado.org/attac...2472298157.jpg

I would need:

1 x Wireworld Silver Eclipse 7, 2 XLR to 2 XLR Audio Cable 0.5m (Dac to Pre)
1 x Wireworld Silver Eclipse 7, 2 XLR to 2 XLR Audio Cable 1m (Pre to Amps)
1 x Wireworld Silver Eclipse 7, Speaker Cable 4m
3 x Wireworld Silver Electra 7, Power Cable 1m (Amps, P10)
3 x Wireworld Silver Electra 7, Power Cable 1.5m (Transport, Dac, Pre)

Couple of items I am not sure about:

1. I could reconfigure the rack moving the P10 up and the Mc501 down

PS Audio Transport
PS Audio DAC
Mcintosh C220
PS Audio P10
Mcintosh MC501
Mcintosh MC501

This would allow for a 0.5m shorter speaker cable and the use of 1m instead of 1.5m power cables:

1 x Wireworld Silver Eclipse 7, 2 XLR to 2 XLR Audio Cable 0.5m (Dac to Pre)
1 x Wireworld Silver Eclipse 7, 2 XLR to 2 XLR Audio Cable 1m (Pre to Amps)
1 x Wireworld Silver Eclipse 7, Speaker Cable 3.5m
6 x Wireworld Silver Electra 7, Power Cable 1m (All)

2. The B&W has dual binding posts, should I get the bi-wire version or shogun and then a set of jumpers?
3. Should I get spade or banana plugs? or a mixture? I don't really have a preference.
4. Are shorter power cables better? I found some reference in other posts that 2m length is recommended?

Aesthetically, I like the way you have the gear arranged in the photo. I would go with the longer powers cords if it were me.

I would also get the bi-wire speaker cables eliminating the need for jumpers. Go with spades on both ends too. :ok:

Nice!

Thanks, any known issues with spades connecting properly with the MC501s or BWs?

None at all.

Not one issue here with connections to my MC501's.

I started with banana plugs on my MC501s but when I upgraded the speaker cable (WW Eclipse 6 to Silver Eclipse 7 series) I moved to spades. I feel the spades are a more sturdy connection from a purely physical standpoint. I had one banana plug that was a real pain to set flush. Of course that's just my individual experience and others may have never had a problem.

The budget allows a move to the WW Gold IC, is it a significant step up from the Silver edition?
