ATC Opinion or Experience

Does anyone have any experience with ATC speakers? Any opinions or thoughts on their quality? I'm looking at a passive set not their active stuff. Thanks!

I have SCM 11v2s and love 'em; loads of detail and never fatiguing.

Huge in the pro audio industry, used by many recording studios.

A world class acoustician I knew selected them for the recording facilities he was in charge of. He tested everything he used including acoustic treatment in anechoic chambers he had access to.

Certainly not inexpensive, but highly regarded.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I was looking at a pair of SCM 7v3 to use until I figure out what I want to do. I've heard good things about them.

Hi @wawa_chan, I'm new in this forum, but have some experience with ATC. Had time before SCM 11 v1 and v2 and I've participated in several rounds testing ATC (SCM 11, v1, v2, SCM 20, SCM 40, SCM 50) against differents speakers proving its value. But there's some tips you need to know. SCM 7 is not the best of that brand, every ATC speakers is enclosed, I mean, has no bass port, that make the sound much more exact, which you could love or not; but the most important in my opinion: ATC speakers needs power, they love power, give them an amplifier with high dynamic and full of power and you will see why people say what they say, even thinking on SCM 7. Hope to be useful. Best regards.
