TAD D1000 still on radar

I am still considering to mix things up and get the TAD D1000 player. I would use it as my primary source w/ Bryston pre and 28BSST^2 amps driving my TAD R1's up in the Cape.

Here is the impossible to find D1000 owners manual.

Your thoughts and input is always appreciated. :)

Ivan, I am a bit surprised by this choice.
Changing things in the TAD system for a purist like you should start imho by replacing Bryston by TAD amps. Not sure if many people will be interested in a TAD CD player....just my 2 cents.

I don't 'feel' this one either... :scratch2:

Ivan, since you asked for our thoughts I'd have to side with our friend Jérôme on this. While Bryston makes excellent gear I think that you could make a much more significant improvement in this system by upgrading the amplification rather than replacing the Esoteric K-01X.

I concur I would do the amp and preamp before the front end.

This is a tough call. I guess it depends if you are looking at it from a dealer or user perspective. Here is my two cents. At the Cape (and in Florida) your personal and main everyday use systems are the McIntosh based set-ups. Swapping out those for something else would be a logistical and for most of us a financial nightmare. On the dealer side you already have two uber priced set-ups with your Burmester and Accuphase gear. On the "relatively" more affordable side you have the Bryston rig. I'm not sure what adding another big ticket name like TAD opens more avenues. Now if you are looking at it from a purely personal purchase, I really like the idea of an all TAD set-up.

personaly I will test in my system a TAD D1000 (or even. DA1000) in place of:
Playback MPS3
Meitner Ma1/Ma2
Esoteric K03x

Tad D1000 with the pre C2000 is (for me) a good combo and sound great.

best

Jerome... the TAD M600 amps are now over $70k a pair; move over, I do not have the physical room for them. They are 21" wide and 25" deep. :sigh:
