Klipschorns vs. Palladium P39, P38, P37...anyone?
 

Has anyone compared these? I've never read or heard of any comparisons being made. Finding a dealer with Khorns and Pall's side by side I would think would be difficult (maybe Audio Classics?). I have Khorns and I can't image the Palladiums being THAT much better at twice to three times the price.

Not sure about the Palls, but I was VERY curious what changes there are on the newer Klipschorns... They have 5-way connectors now? How is the bass when properly placed in the corners? ;) Did you order them direct?

Well they are Stereophile Class A (restricted LF) rated.

Klipschorn is simply a 60+ yr old design, Klipsch wanted to expand their top-shelf offering. Its hard to find adjacent corners and current design trends force speakers to be smaller and out of sight.

If you want to go balls to the wall, find a Klipsch Jubilee owner and have a listen. They MSRP for almost half of the Palladiums and have zero WAF, at 109dB/w/m they are all "Go."

If thats to much of a good thing the Klipsch RF7II pair is killer and the Palladiums are a slightly more refined product.

Have to tell ya, I have a pair of the RF-7II's in my HT and I think they are "so-so." I think the Cornwall III's kill them. In fact, I'm looking at trading them for LaScalaII's or CWIII's in the near future. :yes:

Well, if "So-so", then you know that the Heritage is where you need to stay.

I had LaScalas for years before I found set of Klipschorns, when I first heard them, it was listening to this:

I thought they were the bees knees, but the Klipschorn was significantly better. I have never heard the Cornwall, but they look great and I am sure they rock!

I have the RF-7II's and a Mc 275 is driving them at the moment.I like the sound but of course want a second 275.In the early 90's I had my friends LaScalas for 6 months and loved them.

I'm really enjoying the love for Klipsch Heritage! :thumbsup: I've been doing a lot of on-line research on these speakers and it's unbelievably hard to find good current info or reviews. Like what do the new speaker connections look like... How about the updated factory cross-overs, the new cabinet brace?

It's almost like 20-30 years ago the market became pre-occupied with HT and high-powered amplification to drive cone drivers. Then 10-15 years ago the market went mobile and portable with iDevices and headphones.

Their mid-century classic horn design is so attractive to me I can't even begin to tell you... Well, most likely I will be doing Klipsch Heritage for my next set of speakers. It's only a question of if I want to use 10w SET or 25W EL34 Push-Pull. :thumbsup:

Just wish I could order them in one of these finishes! :yes:
