Does anybody own this piece or has anyone reviewed/demoed one?

I have demoed it. It is a good unit for Home Theater. The room correction software works well. Not the best unit for music listening.

It compares well with the Classe 800 and the McIntosh MX150. The Mc may be a bit more musical but it is also more $.

BTW, I currently own an AVM 30 that I use for movies. Bought it 6 years ago. Have an OPPO 83se connected to it via RCAs.

I owned the D2 and the D2v, now using an MX150. As a sound processor, I think it is very good, however, the D2v has been plagued with HDMI issues, and after almost 3 years, has not been able to get rid of them. I have been told that Paradigm is also going through a austerity mode that is putting the brakes on new product development. I like the fact that it has a built-in AM/FM tuner, but it is no comparison to a MR-88.

The D2v room correction software is much more user friendly then Room Perfect and not only provides charts, but it gives the user the ability to manipulate the results and save and reload corrections if desired opposed to Room Perfect that will not allow you to save. I have been told Room Perfect is capable of saving a configuration, but Lyngdorf will not license that feature to Mac.

If I had to do it over again, I think I could live with the D2v, as I use a Radiance XE for video processing, and save mega-bucks. But then, the Mac "look" would be gone.

I've had one for the past year or two. I really like it. I haven't had much of the HDMI issues, just a few glitches once in a while...nothing I've noticed to be repeatable and it's not that often. Again, that's just me.

I find it's good for music, but I honestly don't have much to compare it too...I've been wondering what a McIntosh C2300 would do for me in comparison. :scratch2:

In addition to sound quality and ARC, one of the deciding factors for me in buying this unit was the upgradability if and when Anthem comes out with new bits. Besides for price this was the big turn off for me with the MX150.

I own a D2V and I love it! :banana: Do a google search for pro reviews. They were awesome. I have had no switching problems. One problem with the video proc. board. It was fixed under warranty. Can not compare it with other models...

Its an original D2 with ARC. Not an upgraded unit. Dont need the D2V. The D2 will do more than I will ever use.

I have had a D2v for a few months now. Big learning curve required to extract its potential but worth it. I have had no serious HDMI problems, other than the rare occasion when the processor will get flaky and not display a source, but reboot always restores it. I see the analog and converter electronics as up there with the very best, video processing the peer of Faroudja. I have not heard anything do discrete surround better. On the down side though, even with DPLII, DTS Neo:6 and others, the Meridian Trifield and cousin Music modes still significantly out-perform any other algorithm for surround extraction from 2 channels. These are the only algorithms I think of as true high end audio. The Meridian 861 is ridiculously pricey though and has no HDMI.

Does the D2 decode DTS MA and Dolby True HD sound or is just do DTS and Dolby? I think the D2V also has a better video processor then the D2 model. I think there are a few other difference between the two models..
