Good Day! I have replaced the Jelco SA370H variant (9" arm) LAD with the Jelco 750D Arm and upgraded cable. The Denon DL103r has more speed and clarity, as well as a more robust presentation. The SA750D arm is definitely higher in mass than the SA370H arm, and the headshell offers azimuth adjustment as well, just like my Sumiko headshell. I am experimenting with finishes on my current plinth as I build my new solid walnut one, so this pic is of the black hammer-tone finish, which will be sanded down and refinished in piano gloss black when I move the table to the new walnut one. BTW The LAD SA370H Arm and the SA750D use the same mounting point. I mounted the arm after adjusting the size of the hole, and mounted the Sumiko headshell and the alignment was spot on!

This is a very nice arm, and a real value IMHO:music:

Jim

Dan, they also stole the whole LP12 design to ARISTON ( the RD11 ) who's founder died a few years after, with no money, while Ivor was becoming a billionaire... ( they were friends and studying together. The LP12 design was the idea of Ariston's founder, I forgot his name, who gave the drawings to Ivor who gave them to his father and Linn was born ! )

The plinth finish is just a test, and rough at best. I am building a solid walnut plinth as we speak to replace this one, and have several other modifications in mind as well. I must say this table sounds amazing as is, and just wanted to use the old plinth as a test bed for the new arm. :^)

Jim

Jérôme.......Yep, Hamish Robertson designed the Ariston RD11 in 1971 with Castle Precision. 50 or so upgrades later the ancient Linn design has finally become a turntable worth a couple grand that sells for seven grand or more. Imagine that. :D
