Not all companies have the same Warranty in all regions. Often it is up to the distributor to handle the warranty. I guess it would be safer for speakers than electronics though.

Most do......I can't think of one that does not, when the distributor handles the warranty I would assume they are doing it on behalf of the manufacture and get compensated for any repairs or parts needed. Its much more cost effective for the manufacture if the distributor in that region stocks the parts and sure the distributor is getting something for this service they provide.

I think Jerry and Howie can confirm that McIntosh products are not sold with the same 3 year warranty we receive here in NA. I believe the distributor only provides a 1 year Warranty. Lets also hear from Europe too.

Dan..... It looks like any passive bought Jan 1st 2011 will fall under the new warranty.

Jim,
In France, the warranty for Mc amps is 2 years.
If something happens during the third year, you can benefit from the 3rd year warranty of McIntosh, but you have to send the item to Binghampton and pay both trips.

Having a 20 year warranty vs 5 year warranty is peace of mind but chances you ever needing to use it is slim to none.....enjoy your new speakers :music:

French speakers Cabasse and JM lab have a lifetime warranty.
But Cabasse sounds like a "frog" to me and JMlab Utopia line sounds really good, but I still prefer the PMC sound :D !
As said before, a well done speaker will last more than us : no use for any warranty at all !

Hello all! Sorry so late to this most important thread... Yes, the warranty applies to all PMC passive loudspeaker systems sold from 1/1/2011 onward!!

Ian, Thanks for clarifying. Is it transferable? I know the only way I get rid of mine is if I move up to something like the PB1i's.

I hope you got a hell of a deal Adol! This is good for PMC but I am sure the dealers will eat this up in their pricing,so in the end you end up paying for the extra warranty....transferrable is nice(with reciept from dealer..$$$$)
