I'm looking to add a Magnum Dynalab Tuner to my all new Bryston System.

Narrowed it down to one of these models.

A lifetime service warranty is just one more reason to buy an MD Tuner. These have really grown on me. I plan to select, and order one tomorrow.

Since you're asking... the MD-108T is a winner in the sound and looks department IMO I've never heard the MD-109T, but as an owner of the MD-108 hybrid tube version and many hours of listening pleasure, I highly recommend the 108-Triode

I went with the MD-105T in Silver 17" to match with my Bryston rig I'm assembling.

If I fall in love, like I think I will an MD-108T will be right behind it to replace my MR88.

Ivan... The MD-105T is an excellent choice, it's the new version of their popular MD-102T model. The 102T sounded very life-like and open, with just the right amount of warmth, detail and smootheness. Your pictures in this thread show the MD-105 non-triode version which is also very nice, but I think you've made a wise decision, enjoy! :music:

Larry from Dynalab said I really wouldn't need one with this Tuner and their ST-2 antenna.

I may still get one to try with my MR88.

Thanks Mike, I don't usually get this much gear all at once; but I guess that's what happens when you buy it all at once. :D

The MD-109T may be the most sophisticated of the three, but the looks are a bit of a
let down. I know that the sound and performance was probably a higher priority, but
in my view the looks also count.

Great choice with the MD-105T...!!

It's clean and simple in design, plus I like the blue read out.

They make awesome tuners, but will there be any more terrestrial radio in five years? Europe is already making noise about eliminating it.

I don't know about Europe, but what makes you think U.S. radio won't be around much longer?

I foresee that at some point they will want to sell that bandwidth just as are doing with that made available with the transition from analog to Digital TV in the US.

Ivan.......I think that is a good move, not to mention I want to see how that RF amp performs because I could probably use one in my rural area for my MR85.

I am very happy with my inexpensive XLR modded MD-90.

Purchased my other Magnum Dynalab tuner in 2008 with lifetime warranty. The DT-5 was their only AM/FM digital tuner, but looks like it's been discontinued in 2010. I'm very pleased with the performance, and this was a great value at well under $1K.

Ivan.......You have so many new toys to play with this Christmas season. You have gone in several new directions this year.

I did go a bit overboard; I'm stacking gear in different parts of the house, depending what system they're for. Just took my advils!

Ivan, Can't wait to see pictures of the "analog room" and the "game room"... I hope you
can have a few days to setup all your new gear and enjoy it. Sometimes it is difficult
since there are so many events/gatherings/parties. Congrats.

Hi Jim,

Dont quite understand your statement. Are you saying that in future, there will only be "digital radio" only?

Would that mean an MR88 Tuner would be a great buy today as it had BOTH Analogue and Digital capability?

That raises the question why Meridian could have phased out making standalone tuners today? :scratch2:

Sorry for the barrage of questions BUT your feedback/advise could lead me onto one more buy before end of this year ... a digital tuner, MR88 perhaps. :D

Please share your advise.

Cheers!
