Wow. That is a beautiful machine. It is probably heresy, or something, but I think it looks great in white.

You can build a 458 on Ferrari website. :D All the options have been discussed thoroughly on F-chat. Some guys in different parts of the world already took delivery. It's just a matter of getting on the waiting list (or to the front of that list if connections and extra funds are available. :D) it's really no different this time around...

Ditto. We have a habit of turning funny British shows into annoying American shows. Hopefully, since our automotive sensibilities are quite different than the Brit's, the show will not simply try to be a copy, and we can have two great car shows to watch.

Oh no! I cringe at the very thought. It could be as bad the American Office which is imho a pile of ....

You can not just reproduce British humour by following a script or architecture, it is the absurdity and ability to laugh at oneself that makes British humour the world's best!!

I like comedy but I have agree with you The Office and 24 Rock are two shows I cannot sit thru. Pure Crappola. Give me Two and a Half Men any day.

On the other hand British architecture (its all old :lmao: ) and British Food (an oxymoron).

Nice car, but i also remember many paying well over sticker for the 360 when it came out... and now you can get them with lowish miles in very good condition for around 50% off sticker a few years later. Of course if you are worth a few billion in paper currency who cares, it might be better than keeping your currency in Dollars, Euros, etc.

Gave up on the whole Ferrari thing quite frankly years ago, if you really want speed then get a proper track car as street legal cars stand no chance plus in most countries the car's capabilities are wasted on public roads anyway. Heck, one guy many consider a blithering idiot whom i know actually bought a Mantide (ROFL!!!!!!!)

Hate to be the cold shower here, yet been there, done that, lost my public road driver's license for a few months, got the track car, earned the Driver's Championship or a few regions in SCCA for Formula 2000, got the movie, read the book... Now driving a more powerful car that is also more proper for public roads that does not attract the wrong attention (and imho those women that a Ferrari attracts are not worth the effort... unless according to a few of my friends you like social diseases).

But yeah, the whole Ferrari thing is a unique... attraction. Jay Leno learned early on about Ferraris, and HOLY MOTHER OF ____ does he have great car knowledge and an awesome collection of automobiles. Of course if you love it get it, perhaps it may be better than 'investing' in CRE/RE or other devaluation items plus you get to use it at the track and whatnot.

------------

+1, please USA DO NOT try to launch a Top Gear-like show. Shows like PINKS and others on SpeedTV are horrible enough without adding to the car show gene pool.

I think that is why they call it disposable income. What we spend it on hardly ever makes sense. Audio, watches, cars, etc.

Hmmm, if he smartly buys the right car, or timepiece, then actually it may be a good investment. Same can be said for artwork, certain musical instruments, etc. A 'mass produced' modern Ferrari does not meet that criteria (especially paying OVER sticker). But yes, if you have the currency then exchanging it for something of physical value (if you buy smartly... or perhaps not if it matters not) is perhaps better in a sense than staying in currency. Of course you only live once and you should see the videos of what the Sheiks/their kids do to cars on public roads. Some are actually darn good 'stunt' drivers.

(Humor) Wine? Women? i have no idea what you are referring to. Nope, no idea at all :wine: :cigar:

I hear that is is safer to continuously drive the 458 than park it. Less chance for spontaneous combustion.

It is always fun to make fun of something I cannot afford.

Funny, the new Ferrari does actually spontaneous combust, so they are recalling it. What is it about Ferrari cars that leads them to burn to the ground moreso than any other exotic?
