I believe they have knocked $1K off the table and thrown in the tonearm and the other accessories for free. If I'm on cue -- no pun intended -- that's a heck of a good deal.

I am a little surprised by the way they worded their add. A bit misleading.

The unit with the 12" Evolution arm, the dust cover, the speed controller , clamping system all come with the table at the $6k list price. I guess you are getting the level, some connecting cords and about 18% off.

Yes, misleading -- since I haven't followed this table intensly, it is a bit misleading. I took it at face value -- but as you pointed out --deceptive.

At least they knocked off a grand or so & added what you mentioned.

Any way you look at the Pro-ject Xtension turntable deal, that is a good price for the package, representing a 16% discount, with the cables tossed in for free.

I wonder how long this deal will go on.

Pretty sweet in black, too. I read an article on this turntable, and was surprised to discover the platter weigh 26 pounds.

Personally, I like the looks of the black verses the others. Haven't heard it -- but if looks is a factor -- nice looking, well equipped table.

I saw and add where the price of this table was reduced by $1K to about $4900.

I would really love to hear this table. I doubt that it would make me move away from the Direct Drive/Idler Wheel camp but I would like it to.

I LOVE THE LOOKS!!!

I would prefer it with the Ortofon arm... I am hearing that NOW that is not an option any longer.

It includes the new Evolution 12CC carbon fiber arm with the new gimbal etc. not the Ortofon in the pictures. The new evolution arms are supposed to be even better than the old 9cc and 12cc. From experience I can tell you the 9cc arm is no slouch. I plan on moving it from my modded TD160 to the TD125 I'm finishing up this weekend or next.

Jim

We had it in at the beginning of the year, it wasn't all that great... Gorgeous build quality though!

Hmmm. I tend to agree. For 5k I would not have project at the top of my list. There are some brands who build better tables imho like JR Transrotor, Acoustic Solid, Avid, Clearaudio etc.

I would buy an AVID in a heartbeat for the same price... $5k will get you a nice used SME 10 as well...
