Running McIntosh C2300 Pre-amp with great tubes (different ones like EAT, Mullard, etc). Also running McIntosh MC402 SS amp. Just got the Maggies in and wondering what SW people like with McIntosh and Maggies.

Have 2 JL Audio powered F112 subs running as well.

Thanks.

Light gauge magnet wire - counterintuitive but quite an improvement. I'm experimenting with 20 AWG - two wires to the + terminal, one wire to ground. Previously, I tried 12 gauge magnet wire- good but "thicker" sounding that the two runs of 20. Don't trust me- try it yourself and see if you're not amazed. FWIT- my electronics are all vintage, upgraded, and world-class tubes. Amps are 120 WPC @8 ohms-mono blocks. Speakers are modified MMG's.

In the two channel system I'm using Cardas Cross with my MG12 modded by Magnestand but I've just ordered a pair of Cardas Golden Cross. The IC's are all Cardas Golden Reference.

In my HT I'm using Cardas Quadlink to the MG1.6 and CC3. All the IC's are also Cardas Quadlink.

 :music:

Any Magnepan owner owes it to their ears to give Clear Day Double Shotgun speaker cables (and jumpers) a try. Contact Paul Laudati through his website or Audiogon. Paul offers a risk-free, 30-day trial, and if you don't like them you're only out the return shipping.

Multiple strands of solid core silver per polarity at a very reasonable price.

I'm currently comparing them to Cardas Golden Reference speaker cables on my 1.6s and can't decide which I like better.

Having been in the high-end business for 25 years, I have tried almost everything.

I am currently running Canare 4S11 shotgunned on my 3.6's and couldn't be happier. They do require a lengthy break-in period.

Oh yeah, you can buy them for around $1.30 a foot.:D:thumbsup:

What else have you compared, especially recently? When you say shotgunned, do you mean the 4S11 has just two connectors per end and you're using jumpers, or is it effectively bi-wired to the 3.6s?

I'm ashamed to say what I use, but they are terrific.

One local dealer wanted me to buy a particular cable. I told him I was tri-amping the system and the three sets of cable would have been $120,000.00. --- I DON'T THINK SO! :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:
