Hi guys,

My ground in my listening rooms vibrates a lot. It is a not a piece one.
My room is under the roof. So this ground was added to the home, as square " placo " pieces screwed to a wooden chassis.
I think I would really need very good isolation stands for the EB1i.

Any idea ?

Thanks,

Cheers,
Jérôme

I use the Symposium Svelte platforms in 14X19" size. Look great and functions nicely. You'll have 1.5" of the platform showing all the way around once the EB1i is on it.

Why not try using the carpet spike that came with your speakers and a set of these or something similar.

Hi Pyro,

I'm already using this kind of device.
I replaced the original spikes by Soundcare Superspikes.
But Spikes do not isolate frequencies below 40 Hz. And my ground acts like a trampoline.
I don't think it has a real impact on the overall sound, because the bass I get from the speakers, especially since the Lyngdorf is in the path, is tremendous and very rich, tuneful.
It is just because I don't like so much feeling the vibrations in the ground.

Cheers,

Jérôme

Try a slab or two of granite.

Pyro, you have your speakers so close to the walls. Don't you think the midrange is a little thick with speakers so close to the walls? Definitely you have great bass!

Pyro.......Your system is beautiful. Those MC501's are crying for the new handles. They would look fantastic in your set up.

They are about 6 inches from the wall, mids sound good to me. I will play around with them. How far out are yours?

Thanks

Pyro.......I can't help it. I am so marveled with the way mine look. I just want to share the experience. There is some serious character in these new handles.

On another note, I measured my PMC EB1i's, and they are 9 inches from the rear wall, and sound fantastic right where they are.

The new handles do look nice. I was following your build in the Mcintosh thread, enjoy.

I will do some experimenting this weekend with my speakers.

Hi Pyro, it looks like you have a great room. Definitely you have the space to postion those speakers. You can make them disappear. If the sound seems not coming from your speakers you are almost done. Listen for excellent soundstaging and the feeling of depth right in front of you. Finally, the bass should not be boomy or overwhelming the room.

Mine are 1.5 feet or .45 meters from the rear walls and lots of space from the side walls like yours. They were 7-8 feet or 2.1-2.4 meters apart. I have several audiophile friends over to help me listen and move the speakers 3 inches or 7.62 cm increments at a time.

It is easier to postion and listen to the speakers if you have a friend or two over. You sit in the sweet spot and have them move it for you. Then each of your friends can listen then you compare notes to confirm what you heard.

Moved my speakers to 9.25 inches from rear wall. I will listen this way for a while. Moving them out further would not work due to the room layout. My other option would be to rotate the complete system 90 degrees within the room.

That's not going to happen. :nono:

Either way thanks for the helpful information.

Pyro---Your system looks very familiar, in fact, I auditioned a setup just like yours today:D For the first time, I finally heard a speaker worthy of replacing my beloved Khorns. Very nice  Oh, did I mention that system is dead quiet

Jérôme.......Have you come up with a solution that will solve the floor vibration problem?
