Not to mention it's a real comfortable 99 degree's out; NOT!

I just had to pay Porsche to replace my battery.... Turns out I didn't drive it enough to be covered by warranty. :icon_thumbsdown: The car sat for few months only which was enough to kill the battery permanently. :dunno:

Interestingly, my 09 C2S seems to suffer considerably less from battery discharge during periods of inactivity than my 07 C2S did. The PCM 3.0 is completely redesigned from the 2.x, so I suspect that may have something to do with it.

Nonetheless, if it's going to be inactive for more than two weeks, it definitely goes on the battery maintainer.

Also, hot weather is harder on batteries than cold weather.

Ivan, I hope your Ferrari has better cup holders than my M5:yes: I spilled a cup yesterday and spent the morning claening the inside.

Dead due to all the modern electronics that are in standby, not much of a draw but enough so that after 2 weeks to a month the battery will be flat.
The 35 Ford sits 6 months to a year between startups, usually has enough charge to start without a boost, the 72 VW sat for over a year outside and started without help. On the other side Moms 92 Caddy only is good for about 2 weeks and daughter in laws Tahoe is less that a week.

Get a rechargeable jump starter, and never worry about a dead battery again.

I had similar problems with trickle chargers. I converted all my toys to Odyssey batteries for their superior performance and weight savings. I was referred to the Accumate trickle charger to keep them healthy and have found their trickle chargers to perform like no others.

It was easy to run an inconspicuous hard line to behind the rear license plate to plug the cars into when not being used. I don not use the old style tongs and they can supply the nice discreet hard wire. They work with lead/acid batteries too.

The Odyssey's CCA's are incredible, the 33% weight differential is nice and the charger has never failed to maintain a perfect charge.

The problem, at least with the Porsche batteries, is that if it sits in discharged state for a bit of time, it will no longer hold a charge and is damaged permanently.

I had a 94' Eagle Talon that went through a battery every 17 months like clockwork and it didn't matter WHAT kind it was.
