Is this replacing your ACT? A friend over on one of the other forums just replaced his CJ pre with Pass Labs and really loves the new sound. The CJ is a beautiful piece of gear, congrats.

Thanks Guys. Yes replaces the ACT2 series 2 which is now sold.

It's really so different from the ACT, really quite surprised.

Yes it is

Definitely takes every minute of this side of 300 hours to break-in too!

Thanks Guys. This isn't new and has plenty enough hours under its belt. If it's not fully run in I would be gobsmacked at it sounds stunning as is.

That's an awesome pre, congrats!

Do you still hear hot treble with the GAT/350? I'm interested to hear your thoughts as I currently have 16LS/350 combo.

Hi Rommark, no the frequency balance top to bottom has changed markedly with the GAT. The sound is a lot less bright with a lot more upper bass and body as well. There does not seem to be any hint of glare, it's a very different sound.

Congrats! That unit has such a distinctive look, it would probably make a good prop in a sci-fi movie :D

Rich,

I must admit to being surprised at the significant upgrade the GAT provided over the ACT II-S2. Moving from ACT II to ACT II S2 was a nice upgrade but the GAT is in another league... is that the surprise you are referring to? Is your GAT broken in yet?

Rich,

Glad you're happy with the upgrade. Enjoy your fantastic system! :D

Hi Bob, yes a big jump to the GAT just as I said, a different sound altogether in fact. See my comment above about being broken in. Cheers.

Wow! What a beauty! Some day will have it! If I were you would not keep CDs & Remote on top of the GAT. Anyhow enjoy this masterpeice!
