There's been 2 weeks that i have installed th 4 pieces DCS Scarlattis in my System....i have not enough words to describe what it has done in the place of the Puccini + U Clock i had....
I am really having a problem cause this week finally my analogic system arrived, a SME 20/3, with SME V tone arm, and Palo Santos Cartridge....what to listen to? Once i feel the Scarlatti is delivering a more analogic sound than a TT, if this is possible.....
Don't tell me you would love to have these problems.....please!
I am relly thinking about selling the SME.....

NO!!!!

That was a big jump -- Puccini w/clock to a 4 stack dCS Scarlatti.

I had somewhat the same impression with the 4 stack Ms. Paganini and then after the euphoria cooled down, the best of two formats depends on the recording source, mastering, etc. She does a masterful job though and can only imagine what a Scarlatti stack would provide. I know this though and have mentioned it previously, my entire CD collection is being revisited with the Misses.

I love both; but am biased on vinyl. At least I read the damn things.:D

What cabling are you using Jimmy? :scratch2: Please don't say Odin.:D

Best to you Jimmy.

Yes it is Bob.
I am using Valhallas on the stack, Valhallas for the pre, Valhalla IC ( phono also), IC Kuballa Elation from pre to powers, and to Speakers Kubala Emotion with Elation jumpers. i think the mix between Elation and Emotion sounds awsome and hot and Valhallas adds the finesse to the system.
I tested Wireworlds, Siltechs, and for me that was the COMBINATION!
I've never tried the Odins....it should be amazing but too expensive! Ive spenttoo much theae days, perhaps one day i should try....but not for now!
All the best!

Yesterday i listened to this systm: Soulution( pre , monos, source), Magico Q7, and MiT Oracle!!
If id had my eyes shut, i could have sweared it was my system playing....pretty much the same deepness, tone, intensity ..... Costing the double!

First off Jimmy, I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your SME setup. The PSP is a heck of a good cartridge and IMO walks over many above its price point.

Now, onto your Vivaldi dilemma. No one can save you now. Feed us with your impressions of the ultimate digital stack playback.

Best sir,

I will be glad to feed you all in about a month.....

The Palo Santos is really incredible! The SME and the cartridge took almost 2 months to show their full potential.....but after that....

Cool Beans Jimmy. I'm glad you're so happy with my suggestion of the Sumiko PSP on the SME arm. Definitely not an inexpensive cartridge, but when one considers many fine cartridges available, it is hard to beat.

Best sir & congrats on the Vivaldi stack.

Jimmyk70 - when you get used to the new sound, get yourself a rubidium clock :D (there is an 10MHz input for Rubidium reference at the back od the Scarlatti clock).

The sound of my Scarlatti driven by Antelope 10M and Antelope OCX clocks, was the best I've heard. And I believe there are even better rubidium clocks than Antelope 10M ...

Lol....Bob! Exactly! Save me from staying at home listening to music instead of chasing those beautiful Brazilian Girls.....
I ve started to invest in Audio Gear just after marriage....7 years ago.....

There are some pictures of my system in The Aida Thread.....
After that i changed the room , and exchanged the Puccini for the Scarlatti. Now i am changing it again for the Vivaldi and added an analogic system with the SME in the front.
As soon as the vIvaldi arrives i will post new pics.
All the best!

Hi Adam
A friend of mine was buying a Scarlatti from Polland , was it yours? Anyway he ended up buying mine....sorry.
What is the main difference with the Rubidium clock exactly?
I am keeping the Scarlatti clock. I bought only the Transport/ dac/upsampler.
Cant think of much improvement apart from the visual style.
All the best

Yes. Buying local is always best option.

BTW - I'm selling the Scarlatti for $25k (transport and DAC) if anyone is interested (universal voltage). Not nearly as good as the Vivaldi, but only 1/3 of the price.

This is a Best Buy!
Actually i cant believe there is something 5% better than the Scarlatti. In my case i am giving me a present for my Doughters birth( it means at least a year without going out much.....).Being very realistic i doubt anyone needs anything better than the Scarlatti stack
.
