Guys,
If any of you own a Runco VX-11d projector here is some information you might find helpful.
The Story,
I watched movies like usual and powered down the system when finished.
The next afternoon I go to power-up the system and I find out the Runco will not, (Turn on the Projector).
I then look over at the Runco VHD controller and see a message.
Actually it turned out that I saw two different messages.
(1) Overtemp
(2) Communications Error
Tried the usual things like UN-Plugging the Runco and powering it back up.
That did not change anything as the same messages would come up in the display of the DHD Controller.
Placed call to, (Hi-Tech Innovations) the Authorized Runco Retailer.
They are the ones that did my HT recently including the Runco.
Set up the appointment for the tech to come check things out.
Tech comes out and places call to Runco Technical Assistance.
They walk the tech through the different things to check.
Then they ask if he had his laptop with him.
He did and hooked it up to the Runco.
Runco Tech walked my Tech through what to punch in to get all the codes.
Turns out from those codes that the Runco Tech said, (I think the Lamp has Failed Prematurely).
Do you stock that lamp?
Luckily I purchased a spare lamp assembly when I bought the Runco.
So, my tech takes out the older Lamp, installs the New Spare Lamp I had.
Fires up the Runco and all was once again perfect.
The Lamp that was in the Runco had 1,625 hrs. on it.
They go a Max of 2,000 hrs.
The Runco also projects a message on the screen before the Lamp hrs. reach maximum.
The message says something like, (Replace Lamp Assembly).
I never got this message as the Lamp Failed prematurely at 1,625 hrs.
So if any of you that have or might purchase a Runco Projector have something like this take place.
You might simply need to change your Lamp Assembly.
Terry
