The black mamba cx you mean?

Yes, I use a Black Mamba CX on my Pr17 and CT-5. And a Black Mamba HC CX on my LP70S power amp and Shunyata Hydra power distributor. My other BM CX is used on my Oppo BD-83SE. Venom3 on the phono stage.

I'm all Shunyata conditioners and power cords. Honestly, as we have no local sources of radio interference and the power in the community comes to us underground (providing natural filtration) I'm not sure any of it makes a difference... but at least the bases are covered.

Is your LP70S plug into the hydra power distributor or to the wall?

Thomas, the amp is connected to the wall.

I am using Wireworld Electa 5.2 between the wall outlet and the Matrix distribution box and WW Aurora between the distribution box and amps. This setup works really well. It cleans the upper registered and tightens the bass.

That must have been very painful... hopefully it's over now and you are on the mend. Suggest you listen to some music... it's not morphine but it sure helps.
Stay well.

My brother has had several bouts with Kstones over the years, he's always told me that it's by far the most pain he's ever endured. ..and we both have had our shares of broken bones, knee problems etc. he likes to tell me "you don't know what pain is"

back to fun stuff..
If I were looking to replace the somewhat hodge-podge collection of PwrCords I currently use, is there anything in the $100-$200ish per cord range that would be a worthwhile swap ?? I currently for example use the stock CJ pwr cord on my DAC, ET-5 has some generic PC.

Regrettably the cables of origin CJ-ie very good hospital grade cable- is not supplied to the European users and we have in exchange a vulgar cable of type PComputer...:icon_thumbsdown:

From the wall (dedicated 15 amp circuit) I use

Nordost Odin
Qbase distribution strip
Nordost Brahama for CT5 and CA200

Qbase is the biggest improvement for the dollar but I bought them one by one all after audition so I guess they were worth the outlay for at least on person.

Hello All,

I'm a brand new member and saw this thread on power cords so I thought I'd chime in as well.

I use a Shunyata Hydra with a Taipan Helix Alpha power cord into the wall.

There's a Venom3 on my 16 LS2 and Oppo BDP-95. I don't really hear any difference using them but as someone previously posted, it doesn't seem to hurt either.

I was using a Venom3 on my Premier 140 but since that amp's out of commission, I've been using my Premier 11A with its stock captive cord and just the other day tried plugging it into the Hydra. Although I may be missing just a bit of the leading edge on some transients (and really not much of that), the soundstage has become much larger and the music just seems to hang there in the room.

I have a PV-10A (modified years ago by Bill Thalmann) as my phonostage with its stock captive power cord. My turntable is a Clear Audio Concept and it to comes with a wall wart power supply that's also plugged into the Hydra together with the PV-10A.

I've got a Modwright/Music Hall CD25 also plugged into the Hydra using its stock cord and that's pretty much it on the audio side.

Joe
