I don't hear one. I don't hear one.

The ET5 sounds nice with the MV60. But it sounds even better when they are in phase :)

Hi Stephen,

I think the ET5 pairs well with the MV-60. I could not find whatever was rolling around. Apparently it does not matter now :D. I took it mostly apart and nothing looked "missing" or disconnected. I don't care now :smoking:

When you get a chance and feel like it, see if you can get a tech to take a look inside and find whatever it was...maybe when you put the 911 in for a spell to listen to.

The ET5 should pair well with pretty much anything by C-J.

If you get a hankering to move up the amp line at some point the future, consider the LP-series...

I'm very pleased you're it turned out to be to your liking...I kinda figured it would.

Now, just sit back, relax and enjoy it! ;)

I'll talk to the local guys sometime this week. I am seriously thinking about having this one converted to Triode mode by C-J for that extra sweetness. And maybe see what other little tweaks they might do to it. After talking to Jeff (tonepub) a while back, I think I would enjoy Triode mode and give the Shindo guys a run for their money. :)

What speakers are you using for listening to the system right now?

joeinid

The Cornwall III's.

Puma Cat

Is that the plan long term? If so, triode power should be plenty...

I think so, I am curious as to how the MV60 sounds on the Nola Micros. I'll have to experiment, but if I go Triode, the Cornwall's are the way to go.

Any thought on speaker cable for the MV60? I confess, for convenience, I did not hook up the Transparent cable, but will tomorrow. I using Blue Jeans LC1 10 gauge and I am getting a ever so slight touch of sibilance. I know it's the cable. Any recommendations for something that works better with C-J?

DNM cable is what I use. You might also try Wireworld Oasis 6 or the Analysis Plus Big Silver Oval speaker cable.

Unfortunately c-j do not pay me dividends....in spite of all my efforts:D

anecdotally my best friend was previously equipped with Naim CDX2 + supply CDP /pre NAC282 /amp NAP200/external supplyx2 and SF Minima Amator, very nice, foot tapping system indeed....
he asked me one day to come to his place of residence to test together my CJ ET2 and MV60 SE..... he has never wanted to let leave the CJ combo and he resold the Naim gear.....And Naim associated with Sonus Faber, that makes some music:music:
Then he wanted to listen to a LP12 and he eventually resold his CDX2, he does not listen to more than vinyls:yes:

Thanks Philippe,

I understand the sound. It is wonderful. I will eventually move up the CJ line, maybe get a TT, but right now, I am very happy. I was playing familiar music last night but enjoyed it more. When I closed my eyes (even though the room was dark) I could not tell where the speakers were. The sound was sort of hanging is space. I had a smile on my face :)

Philippe,
I have been a Naim guy for a while too.
Actually, unless you really go up to the top of the line of Naim ( and there you really pay a huge amount of money...) Naim is imho clearly below the american high end brands like McIntosh and ARC and as I never heard any CJ, I know now that it is true for CJ too....

Hi Jérôme
i like the Naim sound imo Naim makes nice CDP
Naim guys do not generally like tubed amplifiers, they have a different culture, they find that the sound is too much colored and with too much distortion :scratch2: there however they have a lot of respect for two brands which use tube in ....... AR and CJ :yes:

Hi Philippe,

I think it makes a big difference. Not only for sound, but with a constant 120V (for me in the USA) output that is rock steady. This helps with bias because voltage does not vary and the bias does not drift very much at all.

Small world Jerome. I used to be a Naim man as well. 52 with K boards driving 4 x 135's active Naim SBL's. I got sick of the relentlessness and SBL's were a little too small for my then new room, so went to a more coloured ( musical ) sound called cj

I still have the LP12, Circkus /Trampolin /Naim ARO and now Troika again. have not upgraded like yourself

What did you have?

Nac 252 / Supercap and Nap 250 /2 with JM Lab Megane Carat speakers and after Linn Keilidh.
Not neutral for my ears. Very nice but far from the naturalness of McIntosh.

A local tech will check out the amp for the loose screw/nut while I wait. I should be able to do it by the end of the week.

Yea!
