New Gear = McIntosh MC402, C2300
PS Audio Power Plant Premier
Wyred 4 Sound DAC2

Now I have a question in return..........
How do you like the Modwright modded Oppo BDP-83SE?
we were discussing that very topic not too long ago
Holy cow, this new set up will be great, can't wait to read up on your impressions once it all settles in.

And Dan, the Silver Electra line of WW is one of my next moves

Greg.......When you decide to go for the Wireworld Silver Electra power cable, buy the 2 meter length, and install it on your MC602. If the same thing happens to your amplifier's sound as happened to my two MC501's, you will be floored with the improvement, particularly in the bottom two octaves. I bought my first two Silver Electra power cables on the condition that if I did not like them I could return them. Once I installed them and experienced the greater detail in the bass frequency range, the larger sense of air around the bass notes, both acoustic and electric bass, I was convinced. I went back and forth more than a few time between the stock cables and the Wireworld Silver Electra power cable, trying to dispel any imagined improvement, but every single time I returned the Silver Electra's to the amps the bottom end tightened up, and everything sounded better. Naturally, I never returned them, and I now have 14 Wireworld Silver Electra two meter power cables installed on two different systems. Once I got rolling I could not quit until I had sources, preamps, PPP's, and amplifiers powered with the Silver Electra power cables.

I have no doubt that you will experience similar results with your system. Buy your first one, and put it on that big amp. I am positive you will be convinced.

I wish I had known you might be selling a D-07. I am still negotiating on one with my dealer.

I will be doing this with Ivan next month Dan, one (1.0m) for the pre, one (1.0m) for the amp. I will do the PPP (2.0m) eventually. I am a cable believer.

Greg.......Take a good look at the male and female cord connectors on my two meter Wireworld Silver Electra power cable. The reason I ask you to do so is because I once ordered a one meter Wireworld Silver Electra power cord, and wound up returning it. The female cord connector on the one meter power cable was just like the one in this photo, but the male cord connector was a Leviton, and the Silver Electra power cord was split and haphazardly stuffed through a round hole on the cord connector with a big crease in the cable at the point of entry into the male connector. I was not pleased at all to see this. It looked substandard, and jury rigged. It was immediately replace with a two meter power cord, which arrived terminated properly with the Wireworld branded male connector that was designed to accept the flat Silver Electra cable. This may have been some early production runs of one meter Silver Electra power cable, and hopefully this flaw, at least in my opinion, has been addressed. I cannot say for sure. At the time I was told that is how Wireworld terminates their one meter cables. It didn't make sense to me, since every other Wireworld power cable I saw in any of their literature was terminated using the Wireworld connectors as seen on my two meter cables.

What surprised me today was to notice the two 14" Wireworld power cables that hkval listed for sale were both terminated with the Leviton male cord connector on one end, and the Wireworld female cord connector on the other. Notice how the cable is crimped so that it could be stuffed through a round hole in the connector. Rectangle shaped cable doesn't fit in round holes worth a damn. That's why I am pointing this out to you in advance of your ordering one meter cables, and why I posted a copy of Howard's photo for you to view. You may wish to inquire about this before ordering one meter lengths. Then again, maybe that cord connector arrangement may not bother you, but it certainly did me. At Wireworld's price points I don't want any part of my cable to appear as thought it was just scabbed on. I want a clean finished product in every way. View this post as a heads up.

Does seem strange. Does WireWorld have someone else (another company) build all and package all of their standard length cables...?

Are orders for custom length (non-standard) all done with the different male end...? Where are the custom lengths made & why don't they use the same connector...?

Brian.......I believe the cables are assembled in Cooper City, Florida, just south of Ft. Lauderdale, but then again that may just be Wireworld's headquarters. Ivan could answer that.

I have no idea why Wireworld would use the round Leviton male cord connector on one meter lengths of their power cable. When I first opened the box and saw the one on my one meter Silver Electra power cord I was shocked, and immediately thought, "no way am I keeping this ugly, jury rigged set up." My thought is, if Wireworld sells one meter lengths of their power cables they should be identical to rest of their line.

Think that two different locations for assembly would (almost) explain it...

Dan-

I would not accept that type of termination on this product either and it is inconsistent with the build quality of the rest of their products. Regardless of where they are assembled, or the length of the cable, they should all be terminated with the correct plug for the cable shape.

Thanks for the heads up Dan, I wondered why you had made specific reference to a 2.0m length..

I was after shorter runs for two reasons, save money, save space. Two power cords inches from the PPP, I can't stand unnecessary cabling spaghetti. I'm definitely going to stick with the WW Silver Electra cords. I'll take it up with the Master, good info, thx again Dan. Greg

p.s. and that digital Wireworld cable Ivan sent me has approx 150 hours on it now, can't believe how good its sounding.
