David.......As soon as you plug your first two Wireworld Silver Electra power cables into those new MC501's, you will no longer be a skeptic. You will still not understand how they work. Heck, I don't either, but you will know that they do work.

I bought the Wireworld power cords for my 501's and then transferred them when I upgraded to 1.2KW's. They are more than worth the price.

Hi guys, I finally have some time to sit down and write. First off I want to brag a bit, my wife Laura ran her first 5K today and won the AARP level.

Her time was 37:44. My hats off to her for finishing and winning her age group.

Now on to some audio stuff! I brought home a pair of Vandersteen 2CE today. Not a bad speaker for $500. They will not stay in the system for long, maybe a few days and they are off to my sons house. He is a budding "Aficionado" and wanted him to hear something other than mainstream (read big box) speakers.

Power Cords! Silver Electra to be exact. Here is the meat of this post. As I told Ivan this morning, color me a believer!!! Frankly, I was very skeptical of any real, noticeable improvement. Like many have said before me, it's electricity for Pete's sake!

I set them up on the 501's and sat back for a listen to a couple of my favorite CDs. There is one cut where a guitar pluck was waayyy out to the right and sounded out of place. Surprise to me, it came back to where it belonged! There is a marked increase in depth and height. Perhaps a bit less width that what I'm accustomed to but seems accurate to me. Added detail like the harp being more identifiable instead of being smeared.

The most profound impact is in the accuracy of the bass. I actually had to turn down the bass knob on the speaker 1.5 db because it just seemed to overpower a bit. Maybe I can turn it back up and avoid buying a pair of subs!

From top to bottom the presentation tightened up and more detail became apparent without being to forward. I can't explain the why, I just have to believe my ears without trying to analyze it to death.

The question I have is this. Will the addition of more PCs have the same gain as the original 2 or will the improvement be marginal?

The addition of Silver Electra's on Amps will always be the same. On sources, it will be slightly less but easilly still worth the price of admission.

All stock cords belong in the box sealed in their bag, IMHO. Oh you will still want that JL Sub down the road.

Have you try them on source or preamp? I always put the best cords and interconnects upstream. Try it.
