Default New Cables In 2010? Maybe...

I've been thinking about slowly upgrading cables. I'm using the "higher" end Monster cables. And recently I've been buying Blue Jean cables. I just have a really hard time shelling out big bucks on cable. But I digress, I'd like to maybe get into the Wire World. Or does anyone have knowledge or experience with Audience cables? I've heard pretty good things about them too.

I can't replace everything at once. I'm thinking about starting with speaker cables. FWIW, I'm bi-wiring.

You could buy from a raw spool and terminate them yourselves. Save a bunch of money and still get a hi quality cable.

Thanks for the tips on other cables. I will check them out. The DIY idea from CM might be an option too.

Jeff...have you tried The Cable Company (http://www.thecableco.com/). I would call them and describe your system and give them a budget to work with. They maintain a database of customer comments that track what other people with similar equipment have found to be synergistic. So they can make a bunch of recommendations for you and then provide you with loaners for home evaluation. You can then decide what works best for you. Ofcourse you can always call Ivan and work out a deal on a Wireworld loom just right for your application

Entry level Transparent cable and close to entry level Kimber Cable (Hero interconnects and 8TC speaker cable) are no brainer upgrades from the Monster cable. Good luck.

I like Cyril's suggestions. I have previously used the Cable Company to try out cables before I made my purchase and they were very helpful. (They do not carry Transparent)

If you are comfortable with the suggestions of others here you can always go with Wireworld knowing you are getting a good cable at a fair price. You will go crazy looking thru magazines and reading the hype on cables. I believe in the benefits of cables. At some point you need to put a stake in the ground and built an entire loom from something reputable.

Do "WE" all agree that generally it is best to have the "whole loom" from the came company???

Just curious...
