Default Wife Comments On New Cable

Picked up a used Wireworld Silver Electra Power Cord on the weekend. I tend to be sly when discussing new cables with my wife. She, like most others, think cables are a waste of money. So I asked her, "what do you think about the new cable I picked up". She replies, " It makes it sound stronger', and she makes a fist. I ask if she's just messing with me, because I know she really doesn't give a hoot. She replies, " yes, it really is stronger". Interesting & funny to get a positive comment like that from the wife......ps. I used it on my MC205 amp.

And I didn't mention what her next comment was..."how much was it?" My reply, "not to much".

My wife pays no attention to my 2-channel room, has probably only stepped into twice in the last year, so me looking for confirmation of changes in cabling would be useless.
The last time I asked her to sit and listen to the change speaker wire made to my systems sound was the spring of 1978. I asked her to sit and listen. She asked me what she was listening to. I said, I changed speaker wire to a high end braided cable. She still laughs every time that conversation comes up.

Actually I have about 2800 sq ft of no nag zone. She doesn't spend any time in our lower level.

Well she is kinda bugging me to get rid of the extra set of speakers stashed in the corner of the formal living room. I have them listed here on AA and on audiogon. Nice speakers, I just don't really need them........

Paul.......That's one of the reasons I like my studio so much. I am never disturbed when I am down there. Marlene calls on the intercom sometimes to let me know dinner is ready, and that's about it. She is happy to stay upstairs, and this is good when I'm in the mood to be undisturbed.

Dan,
I have a pretty decent size house, buy I don"t have my own studio downstairs. You sound like you have a pretty good situation over there in Florida.

Mike.......Yes I do. My house isn't that large, and I built it that way on purpose, less upkeep and easy to maintain now that I am retired. I added the two room studio about four years ago, and it has been my oasis ever since. The key to my happiness is low stress. Having the studio offers me my own space to unwind, and helps me to maintain my usually cheerful nature.
