Impressive.

I will probably get a Silver Starlight 6 sometime in the near future.
Such a deal for you...

If it can unzip like a DNA helix and reproduce by making copies of itself, I will definitely buy one!

Sorry for the bump, but I'm contemplating going from Silver Starlight HDMI to the Platinum version. The reason for this is mainly on the audio side (although if video would improve then I'm not sorry about that

I've come to the conclusion that in my system consisting of mainly Meridian DSP speakers with digital only sources, the only thing that actually sounds consistently better is by going solid silver. I found that out on the coax (which are used extensively in the pre-SL M systems). I've tried numerous cables and most does not improve greatly on the M cables enclosed if you bother terminating them with a WBT true 75Ohm Silver 0110 RCA.

Until I tried the Gold Starlight 6, a solid silver OCC cable. I also ordered Furutechs solid silver coax cable and that too was superior to the silver-clad cables.

So there it is, that is my reasoning why the Platinum HDMI (solid silver (although not OCC as it would be to costly)) might be a good fit in my system.

Your toughts?

Well I took delivery of the Platinum HDMI this week and will try and get a listening session later today in my Meridian DSP theater.

My dealer also ordered one and put it between his MBL transport and Reference DAC in MBL Reference system. Might be able to chime in on the differences there from the S Starlight 6 as welll.

Thanks well I've had the ww platinum HDMI for one week now. It's connected from my HDI Dune BD Prime mediastreamer source (Furutech modded) into my Meridian HD621 HDMI switcher/dejitterer/upsampler. The HD621 is then connected via Furutech solid silver 75Ohm RCA's to my Meridian G68. Power is served via Furutech PC's and Shunyata Hydra 8 distribution. Meridian DSP8000/DSP7200HC front speakers.

During the years i've found solid silver cables (including ww gold starlight coax) to work the best in my all digital Meridian DSP setup.

I've not found branded silver plated coax cables to work much better than properly WBT 75Ohm 0110 terminated standard meridian s/pdif cables which was also silverplated and available on reel.

So on to the ww plat hdmi. I bought this one for soundquality and it started with a silver plated silver starlight 6 hdmi. I liked that the separation of instruments in complex passages got a lot better than my old OFC Kramer flat HDMI cable but I remember the difference between the silver and gold starlight ww coaxes and that made me take the plunge for the platinum, but would it be good, would my el-cheapo HDI Dune mediastreamer even benefit from this much more expensive cable. At the first 12hours it simply didn't. But at 24hours it started to surpass my ww silver starlight 6 hdmi cable and then as the days gone by even more so until it was totally outstanding. My cheap albeit somewhat modded HDI Dune mediastreamer is finally able to breathe some. Approaching the finer transports although not near 808 territory but even so more refined, relaxed and furious!

I will not say much about the picture because i've not had the oppurtunity to test this cable from the HDMI-switch to the projector (12m). But I can say that the colors seemed a bit more steady and picture dynamics seemed a bit better maybe a bit more detail got through even though it just went 1m to my HDMI switch.

For Meridian HD621 owners I can wholeheartedly recommend the ww plat hdmi cable and gold starlight coaxes into G68/861. And anyone else for that matter looking for the absolute best HDMI cable that withhold no information or nuance its source is conveying. It really is that much better for music and for movie soundtracks. And it really makes whatever you have connected shine to its absolute best, what more could you ask?

Jerry, You should be reading this my friend as you add a 7200HC to your DSP8ks

Aye, the DSP7200HC is a fantastic center speaker. Ofcourse 3 vertical DSP8k is the ultimate in the M world but most run a solid screen which excludes that possibility..

For me I had to choose between a 861V6 and a DSP7200HC and I'm glad I went for the center first which is a much better fit to the 8k's than DSP5200HC which really struggled.. Sorry for the OT..
