Does the Sophia 3 or the other Wilsons come with such resistor tuning kits ?
That's a neat concept.

Guys, how do we know for certain which crossover resistor is used for the woofer? Is it written somewhere on the wooden box, or user manual or the speaker itself? Or is it mandatory to open the filter cover to see inside what is the resistor fitted?

For the Sophias, I don't think that this flexibility exists (at least the earlier models).

Well, here's to hoping that the resistors and further break in make a huge difference because at this point I can't see myself living with these. They sound so rolled off in the highs to my ears. I think my Sophia 2's, while not as smooth in the upper frequencies, sound better overall. :-(

Get the new resistors in, make sure the dealer looks over them and that they they are set up properly, and allow some good amount of time for break in before you get too discouraged. I have heard so many times how after so many hours of break in makes SUCH a difference (and the right resisters too will help).

They are brand new... give them some time and I am sure they will sing for ya

When i heard the Sasha at my dealer a few weeks ago, it had a few hours in there.
It was not at all rolled off. As a matter of fact the highs were very abundant (a bit too much for me).
A hundred hours passed, my friends who listened to the pair said the high's were now more mellow but resolving.
I hope the resistors and the break in are the culprit...

Dear MadFloyd, I think I have another theory while you are not enjoying, yet, the SASHA.

You recognize that the Sophia 2's highs are not as smooth but still very good. You have probably 'tweaked' your system (cabling or equipment) to tame a bit the treble. And now, with a more transparent speaker like the Sasha, the tweak made for the Sophia 2 simply becomes more audible. !

The angulation of the Sasha head (former Watt) can also play a significant role in the mids & highs balance versus the bass/mid-bass.

I can tell you that I had yesterday, for a couple of hours, a pair of Sasha at home and I would not say that the highs were rolled-off (this pair had only some days of usage). Just my two cents, more in line with soundlikemusic's opinion. ;-)

One more point MadFloyd, why not trying your pair of PASS XA100.5 with the Sasha to compare with the BAT amp?
