The Bryston, i would not match them with the Wilsons. Its not as refine as the lamms. It definitely has more power and brute force than the lamms but it lacks that finesse.
I have yet to hear a bryston set-up that I really admire. In most cases i find them a bit dry sounding. Perhaps YMMV.
Another option would be a pair of Electrocompaniet monoblocks or even the Ayre MX-R or a pair of ARC Ref 610.

gentlemen, i alrady own Halcro dm78, ARC 210 monos, Pass X350.5, Pass X250.5, Pass Aleph 1.2.

above amps have me covered very well in the quest for ultimate sonic reproduction.
as an alternative i am looking for something different. power that will have my walls shaking. regardless of the last bit sweetness in the midrange or that über-precise midbass......

amps that will make the maxx's sweat

@deb, would be great if you could check with Peter if he thinks the Bryston will work well with the load the Maxx's present.

thank you all again for all the input (even if besides my point in many instances )

But will ARC Ref 5 happy with 28B's very low input impedance ?
ARC not recommend load of less than 20Kohm. and 28B 's is appoaching that figure.

I am looking for a SS amp to match my ARC 's tube preamp too. 28B is one
of my choice but with it's very low input impedance. I deleted it from the list.
which are Pass' 1000.5, XA200.5, Krell EVO600e, Levinson 53.
Also 28B is not very happy into very low impedeance load too. based from
Stereophile measurements.

Regards
Pass Labs X-1000.50 has an input impdance of 30Kohms just like the Bryston.

Intouch1, have you considered a pure class A amp like the Pass XA200.5 or Gryphon Antilleon and Collosseum?

Gotcha, in that case the Mcintosh 1.2k or the Musical Fidelity Titan hats in the ring

Hi intouch1,

one of the best listening of the sasha's was with XA100.5 + ARC Ref5. As the impedance of the Maxx3 is 91db, you will have no problems witn a XA100.5 and a great result with ARC Ref5
